The Bishop Wand Church of England School is looking to appoint an excellent and motivational Head of Geography for September 2025. The position is available for experienced geographers who are enthusiastic and are keen to educate students about the changing world around them.

The Geography Department, which is part of our Humanities Faculty, is a friendly team of excellent and supportive teachers who bring energy and enthusiasm to the delivery of their subject. Geography is a popular and successful subject through the school and the successful candidate should have the ability to teach KS3 and KS4. Experience of teaching at KS5 would also be desirable.

As Head of Department, you should possess the vision to develop and implement an exciting curriculum and promote a love of Geography.

Ideal candidates will:

  • be outstanding practitioners, with an unwavering commitment to the highest standards for teaching and learning

  • have excellent leadership and management skills

  • have a proven track record of raising attainment with GCSE Geography classes
