Phil Reeves

Phil brings a wealth of experience as an educational leader and a deep commitment to transforming teacher recruitment in the UK. With over 25 years in education, including his current role as Headteacher at Thamesmead School, Phil has seen firsthand the current challenges schools face in attracting and retaining talented educators.

Phil Reeves

Phil has benefitted from a rich leadership pathway that has allowed him to develop a great depth of experience across three Surrey secondary schools. Commencing as the Head of History, and then Head of Humanities at Blenheim High School, Epsom which opened as a new school the year prior to Phil joining the staff. Phil then joined the senior leadership team at George Abbot School, initially as Director of Sixth Form, then achieving promotion to Deputy Headteacher at the school.

This initiative reflects Phil’s vision to streamline recruitment processes for talented and experienced teachers returning from international British curriculum roles back into UK classrooms, with ease for both teacher and school, and an added benefit of reducing unnecessary costs traditionally associated with existing recruitment pathways. His not-for-profit approach centres around sustainability, collaboration, and impact in the education sector to directly benefit students.

Phil’s expertise in strategy, team building, and operational efficiency, and his commitment to partnership and collaboration, underpins his work. As a Headteacher, he has led significant advancements in teaching and learning, focusing on empowering staff and delivering exceptional outcomes for students. These same principles guide his efforts with this initiative, ensuring recruitment practices align with the evolving needs of schools and educators and bring talented teachers into UK classrooms.

Phil is driven to create a system where schools can focus their resources on what truly matters—providing students with outstanding learning experiences.
